The Harvey Gantt Center is named after the first African American mayor of Charlotte. Mr. Gantt integrated Clemson University in 1963 and is now a partner in one of Charlotte's most notable Architecture Firms. His firm is housed in the Oscar Thies building on the corner of 8th & Tryon street.
